CNY 2011 ~ thousands lighting Ninth Emperor

The weekend before the Chinese New Year, our group has an outing to the Ninth Emperor temple at Raja Uda, a pretty temple with a lot of the Chinese architectures, the wall arts and the decorations for the Chinese New Year just bring the festival feel in atmosphere…

In was at evening after we had our dinner at Juru, we drove to Raja Uda and find a parking at near by the temple as the temple was so crowed with the peoples and the new year market also setting at around the temple…then street just in front the temple was hang with a lot of red lanterns along the road which is another scene exist during Chinese New Year, it makes the me feel that I was in China town…

When the sky start to turn into darkness, the silky blue of the sky brings a pretty match with the gold temple, while the tanglungs’ (lanterns) red lighting up the feel of goodness “喜气洋洋”… the peoples were praying in the temple with their sincere, to pray for the new Bunny year will have lots of goodness and blessing in fortune, career, health and relationships…and of cause, the main thing as the local Hokkien says: “Huat ar!!!” (means become rich).

well, this time mainly shot in hand held although i was bringing along my tripod, but seems it never came out of the bag... As i also wanted to try out the high ISO shooting with my D90, seems up to ISO800 is not a problem that it can handle the noise; and out of the composition and shutter speed adjustment, i was learning from my friends and trying during this outing is the exposure and the white balance compensation in order to bring out the stunning tone of the night lighting scene of such an amazing temple...thanks to Yee Fan who create such a good outing and also thanks to all the members on sharing and coaching during the session...
