Portraiture with Esther

An event just created by a new friend knew from FaceBook, Leo last Sunday that he was inviting another few photographers to have a portraiture shooting with a young new model, Esther, at Penang Heritage area.....
I was reached early, after a phone call to Leo and confirm that the outing has delayed for another half an hour, i just walk around at Armenian street as we planed to meet each others at Yap Kongsi...well, i have pass by the street quite sometimes and this is the 3rd time i walk into it, the first time i walked is during the CNY celebration as there are too many peoples and is was at night, so i can't really enjoy the scene....the second time was a bit rush as during that time was a photo contest and need to reach Cheah Kongsi at same street, after done the contest shooting need to rush to the City Hall for the next shooting session....well this time, i have about 30 minutes to enjoy by myself.....the previous visit was at the east side of Armenian street...so i choose to walk into the west side start from Yap Kongsi...the street at West side is seems like a single lane and one way street, and there is a curve when walking a little bit further into it and follow to curve turning towards south direction, and both sides of the lane are covers by the heritage double stories terrace houses, the residents having peaceful morning, some reading news paper and some still have a nap on the chair in front of their house, when look upward can clearly see the Penang trade mark building~~KomtarAfter half an hour, they just reached and have a breakfast at near by restaurant....it would be an ice-breaking session in a short breakfast time among the all of the photographers Alex, John, Pak & Wendy...and model Esther.... of cause, most of the time when meeting photographing fever group will not least on talking about the kit set on hand, sharing some experience and some information on photographing events or the market tips.....by the way i found that all of us are just being "poisoned" on playing DSLR about 1 year plus.....
Our model, Esther...well, before attending this outing i have surfing her page in facebook and have simply set a draft on which is the nice angle of her for photographing by referring her previous shots...she is pretty young, about 18, on that day she just wear a light make up, and dress in white...the photo session had begun after the short breakfast and we started at the road side of Armenian street (east side), she is pretty new in modeling and yet to be professional as i think, this is because she needs a lot of guidance on posing and well this is cool as she will follow our request and of cause we can have a change to learn how to guild on posing without a gap....may be is also due to she is new so that she catch up our idea in fast and she really presented in her way to be more natural and that would be another shock giving quite a number stunning shots...well, this time i try to use the spot metering with only my 18-105mm nikkor kit-lens and i just discover that it gives accurate exposure as the area i took as reference and this is absolutely stunning even i shot the model with back light, it totally throw the background away but the subject remain nicely......
just my little opinion on her that i know she is young, and may be cause by this young age, she may tend to be cute, but to me, i think she deserved to be gorgeous, growing up to be matured, and stunning with high fashion style instead of being "cute"
