Chinese New Year 2010 celebration (Feb 2010)


The "red" is representing the good things in Chinese's believe, during the festival especially Chinese New Year, there will be a lot of red lanterns hanging around every corner, from the front doors out to the streets, temples and coridoors were decorated with these reddy lanterns telling that the "spring festival" is full with wealth and happiness......喜气洋洋..... Dragon Dance 舞龙 is one of the traditional performance in Chinese New Year and together with the Lion dance 舞狮 where the Dragon is the lucky simbol of Chinese ethnic as Chinese also called as "the son of Dragon" 龙的传人.... The government official Chinese New Year Celebration at Penang fall on the 7th day of CNY and that day also called as "human day" 人日, as believed the "Human" is being "born" on that day when god created the world .
at the Herritage streets near by Masjid Kapitan Keling road, Chulia road and Acheh road were block for the celebration 庙会, a lot of temples were opened for public and there are a lot of traditional performance and new year performance were held on the streets, and it is quite happening on this once in a year celebration.
